This weeklong summer art program is open to youth ages 6-12. Sherry Hensley, art instructor at North Greene high school in Greene County, teaches the classes and has been conducting the Art Quest classes for over 10 years. Sponsored by the Greeneville Arts Council, this program varies each summer to allow a relaxed creative learning atmosphere in art while having fun with drawing, painting, sculpture, and art history. The 2019 summer Art Quest classes will be held at the Schulman Center on the campus of Tusculum University July 8th – 12th (Monday-Friday) from 10:00 – 12:00 noon. The cost is $10.00 per child, and can be paid day-by-day, or at the beginning of the class on July 8th. All supplies and materials are furnished by the Greeneville Arts Council. Contact Sherry Hensley at Sherrylovesart@hotmail.com for more information. Class size is limited to allow quality time with each student. Pre-registration is suggested with forms available by contacting the email address listed here.
Boys & girls club:
The Greeneville Arts Council has had The Boys and Girls Club as one of our main service projects for the last 20 years. We volunteer at the club several times each year. As part of our service there we provide a craft idea, the associated materials for each craft and work directly with the children to complete the craft(s). Some of our regular projects have been painting pumpkins during the fall, ornament making during Christmas and other craft ideas. It is a great opportunity for the GAC to make an impact on our youth.
